Jallikattu and Pongal ...

A bull in Jallikattu ...

Jallikattu (Tamil: ஜல்லிக்கட்டு,சல்லிக்கட்டு) also known as Eruthazhuvuthal (Tamil: ஏறுதழுவல், ērutazhuval) or Manju virattu (Tamil: மஞ்சு விரட்டு), is a bull taming event typically practiced in state of Tamil Nadu as a part of Pongal celebrations on Maatu Pongal day.

People of Tamil Nadu are now fighting a legal battle in their own land to lift the recent ban on Jallikattu, a traditional Tamil culture and a part of Pongal celebrations from the ancient times ...
